Meet Lenis, a dedicated physiotherapist driven by her passion for community care and adaptive sports. After graduating from Nanyang Polytechnic in 2016 with a Diploma in Physiotherapy, she secured her Honours Degree in the Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) from Trinity College, Dublin in 2017.

Lenis began her professional journey at Yishun Health, where she honed her skills across diverse settings including inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and community outreach programs. Specializing in rehabilitation, she has adeptly managed a variety of cases ranging from post-operative and orthopedic conditions,  neurology, geriatrics, and chronic diseases.

Drawing from her personal experience as a former national volleyball player and javelin thrower, Lenis understands the setbacks caused by injuries in pursuit of athletic excellence. This firsthand insight fuels her commitment to facilitating rehabilitation and injury prevention, thus ensuring athletes are able to swiftly regain their peak performance levels.

Driven by her passion for adaptive sport and community integration, Lenis founded PlayKaki in Singapore, a volunteer-led adapted sports program catering to patients at Yishun Community Hospital. She is also a core member in PlayBuddy, a similar initiative dedicated to children with physical disabilities, and volunteers her time with the local wheelchair rugby team.

Lenis' dedication to her role has earned her notable recognition, including the prestigious Client Experience Gold Award (Team) at the Community Care Excellence Awards 2022, and a nomination for the title of Outstanding Physiotherapist in the Public/ILTC Sector by the Singapore Physiotherapy Association.

Central to her professional ethos is Lenis's unwavering commitment to prioritizing her clients' goals. She approaches each case with empathy, recognizing the unique challenges inherent in every individual's rehabilitation journey. Beyond merely treating ailments, she deeply values her clients' personhood, striving to make a lasting, positive impact on their lives.

Lenis remains actively engaged in advocating for inclusive sports participation as an esteemed member of the Medical Advisory Panel (MAP) within the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC). She also one of the lead volunteers with Singapore's only wheelchair rugby team, supporting volunteer management and coordination efforts to grow the community.
